Develop insight into his/her illness including the initial signs of pending mania or hypomania |

Patient will undergo complete psychiatric evaluation and follow through with recommendations including medications and possible hospitalizations |

Patient will achieve lower level of psychomotor activation, agitation and distractibility |

Patient will verbalize insight into his/her illness and consequences of prior manic behavior such behavior as promiscuity, substance abuse, irresponsible spending sprees, etc…. |
|
Patient will attain at least 6 hours of sleep per night |
|
|
Patient will make decreased grandiose statements and demonstrate greater reality testing |
|
Patient will verbalize acceptance of the need for ongoing supportive treatment and medication |
