ANXIETY Sample Treatment Plan

  Problems:
       
Difficulty in controlling persistent, excessive anxiety Somatic complaints such as cold, clammy hand, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, excessive startle response, etc…

Physical symptoms of restlessness, fatigue, trouble

concentrating, irritability, muscle tension and disturbed sleep.

Excessive concerns about punctuality, perfectionism, overzealous in seeking approval
Excessive worry about their competence or the quality of their performance    
       
  Goals:    
       
Reduce the frequency and the intensity of worrying Develop a healthier, more realistic evaluation and expectation of self
Develop a more comfortable level of subjective anxiety    
  Objectives:    
       
Improved sleep, energy level while reducing anger, irritability, restlessness Increased awareness of maladaptive coping strategies to deal with anxiety or fears
Reduced frequency and intensity of worrying Identify cognitive distortions that generate excessively anxious or fearful sensations
Reduce somatic manifestation of cold, clammy hands, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, etc… Develop relaxation techniques to help reduce anxiety to a more manageable levels
